The Grant Management Office under the Directorate of Research at Malla Reddy Vishwavidyapeeth supports faculty members and researchers in identifying, applying for, and managing research funding from national and international agencies. The cell strengthens the university’s research ecosystem by facilitating competitive grant proposals, promoting interdisciplinary projects, and ensuring effective management of funded research.

The Grant Management Office functions under the Directorate of Research and is headed by the Grant Management Officer (In-Charge), Dr. Ellojita Rout, with support from the Research Associate, Dr. Twinkle Tiwari. The Grant Management Office serves as the institutional nodal unit for research funding, grant facilitation, and administrative coordination across the grant lifecycle.

The Grant Management Office (GMO) facilitates research funding by identifying national and international funding opportunities from agencies such as  DHR, ICMR, DBT, DST, BIRAC, AICTE, UGC, Horizon Europe, Indo - US collaborative programs, UKIERI and other relevant funding organizations. It supports researchers throughout the grant lifecycle, including proposal development, budget preparation, internal review, submission, post-award management, project monitoring, and regulatory compliance. It also coordinates the formulation and implementation of the Research Finance and Infrastructure Policy, establishing institutional seed grant guidelines for research funding, financial governance, infrastructure utilization and resource management to ensure transparent and efficient research administration.

Pre-Award Phase

  • Announcing programs and soliciting applications or proposals for funding under assistance awards
  • Overseeing, reviewing, analysing, and evaluating grants/assistance applications, plans, and estimates.
  • Determining awardee eligibility using formulas and methodology and established eligibility criteria, such as competitive rating factors.

Post Award Phase

  • Preparing, processing, issuing, and tracking grants/assistance awards and compliance with reporting requirements
  • Conducting program evaluation, including monitoring and assessing awardee performance, and establishing performance measures
  • Conducting post-award reviews and analyses to identify management, financial, and administrative issues
  • Performing final review of completed proposals, making appropriate adjustments or disallowances, and processing close-outs; and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements.

Extramural 

  • Identify and disseminate national & international funding opportunities. 
  • Support concept note and proposal development. 
  • Assist in scientific writing and budget preparation.
  • Coordinate Scientific Review Board (SRB) review for scientific merit and facilitate ethical review through the Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC), wherever applicable. 
  • Facilitate proposal submission through funding agency portals. 
  • Ensure compliance with sponsor and institutional guidelines. 

Intramural

  • Coordinate the complete institutional grant management process. 
  • Facilitate reviews through LPMC, SRB and GEC. 
  • Support grant approval and project initiation. 
  • Coordinate administrative and financial processes. 
  • Monitor project progress, milestones, and compliance. 
  • Assist with technical and financial reporting. 
  • Maintain project records and grant documentation. 
  • Ensure effective research governance and successful project completion.
  • Conduct cohort-based training programs aligned with relevant funding calls. 
  • Organize capacity-building programs on institutional seed grant policy across all constituent institutions of Malla Reddy Vishwavidyapeeth. 
  • Disseminate calls for proposals from funding agencies such as DHR, ICMR, DBT, DST, BIRAC and other national / international organizations. 
  • Organize workshops on AI-assisted grant writing, plagiarism detection, and responsible use of AI in research.
  • Conduct awareness programs on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), patents, and technology transfer.
  • Organize grant writing workshops and training programs. 
  • Facilitate interactions with funding experts and successful grant awardees. 
  • Conduct proposal review and mock evaluation sessions. 
  • Support early - career researchers through mentorship and capacity - building initiatives.
  • Facilitate hands-on training on grant submission portals and application processes.
